Syed Haq’s birth anniv celebrated

Prolific litterateur Syed Shamsul Haq has stepped into 80 on Sunday. Marking his birth anniversary, Syed Haq Jayanti Udjapan Parishad organised a birthday celebration programme at the National Theatre Main Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the evening.
Cultural personalities Ramendu Majumdar, Syed Hasan Imam, Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu, Golam Kuddus, Aly Zaker and Mohammad Samad spoke at the programme.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana sent bouquets to the writer conveying their heartiest greetings to him on the occasion.
Receiving the bouquets, Syed Haq expressed his gratitude to the prime minister and her sister.
Syed Shamsul Haq was born on this day in 1935 in Kurigram district.
